Stuntin on them ..

Rih Rih is back looking absolutely gorgeous as a blonde! Rihanna is one of my favorite women in the entertainment industry, probably one of maybe a handful I actually respect & look up to. Rihanna has grace, ridiculous style & she remains what appears to be extremely humble. Who else could pull of this origami-like silk Stephanie Roland frock...yeah not I. Loving her.

i'd pay for it.

Clutches That Pop.

I love wearing black, white or grey with subtle punches of color. I've always been a huge fan of brights, but now that it is the winter season, it's time to play up the muted tones with bright accents.
This outfit is something I am working on putting together, although the whole lot will cost over 5000$. (good luck with that, Keli)
Dress : A.L.C.
Shoes : Christian Louboutin
Clutch : Michael Kors
Choker : David Yurman

I like the leopard look, but not bold enough to wear it in a big way. Maybe a bootie, or a belt. I really like this Lauren Merkin clutch though. This is a tricky get-up because it is the 'acid wash' AND 'leopard' trend in one 'fit, but I'd run with it!
Shirt : Elizabeth & James
Jeans : William Rast
Shoes : Christian Louboutin
Clutch : Lauren Merkin
Bracelet : Kenneth Jay Lane

Hey there, twinkle toes.

These sure are special. They remind me of YSL Tributes. Only a little more vibrant! Gian Marco Lorenzi Rhinestones sandals will set you back just over 2300$.

you ain't a barbie it's none of ya freakin beeswax!

L O V E Nicki Lewinski.

Amerie : December Cover of Elle

I love everything about this spread. It's like a wishlist of mine. Especially the Alexander Wang nude/black corset dress. Also the haute hippe vest & black Givenchy gladiator sandals she re-wears in several pics. Gorge. Here are my favorite looks from the shoot:

this CL sequin jacket is gorgeous.

Needing these over the knee Chloe suede boots. I love them.

Love everything in this pic. Including the Louboutin coral Lola pumps in the corner..

Amazing two tone strapless corset dress. So elegant/edgy.

see the rest of the shoot here..

It wasn't even planned, but I quit. I think. I hope. Fuck it I'm sticking to it. About a month ago, when I went back home to Nova Scotia for a little R+R, I just didn't want one anymore (by 'one' I'm referring to those sweet sticks of cancer).
I started excersizing more & noticed how much more endurance I had, within days. I do miss smoking, mostly after a few cocktails. I must admit, the nicotene withdrawals have made me quite edgy, i.e. bitchy. Yeah. Plus I had intense wierd terrible dreams too. That is still going on. Had one lastnight. It involved a plane crash & Bradley Cooper. Mind you I was watching Mayday while falling asleep, and Brad Coop just runs through my thoughts. That makes sense I guess...
Biggest thing I've noticed is that my lungs don't ache during breathing after a big weekend of partying. That's really nice. Also my mouth doesn't taste like an ashtray. mmm.
Ok all this talk about ciggarettes is making me restless. I'm gonna go make a coffee. FU*************K.

Favorite Birthday Dress

This has got to be the most glamorous I've ever felt. A vintage peach sequin wrap tunic purchased in Miami, I turned it into a barely-there dress on my birthday. It didn't take well to 'booby tape', so I just ran with it. It did have good movement to it, as you can tell. Next February, I think I'm going to run with a LBD. Something very simple, short, with a pair of loud heels. Ahh, I love birthday dresses.

Christian Louboutin Straratata Sandals

I don't strut- but if I had these strapped against my feet, I would start. These are just so me. Feminine, absract & will not go un-noticed. These are my next loubs. Maybe I'll order them for an early Christmakkuh present to myself. 995$ at net-a-porter.com
These will be mine, oh yes, they will be mine.

808's Best

I can still listen to this over & over. Especially driving. "Hey hey hey. Dooo Dooo." Yeez.

You Know You're Major When..

By ridic, I mean ridiculous. Referring to these 3 ladies swag. Love em. Kate, Drew & Mary Kate.
..Ms. Moss is a BOSS.

Ever since the first time I saw him as a little girl, I loved Michael Jackson. I used to watch this movie as a kid with my brother, probably trying to find a mitten or glove to wear as I sat on the leather couch in my dad's old house, and watched MJ save 3 kids from Joe Pesci. By turning into a spaceship. Ah. I watched this a few weeks ago on YouTube for old times sake. It WAS way cooler when I was young, mainly because I actually believed Michael could transform into guns then aircrafts. I enjoyed watching it again anyhow. It's funny how you can never personally meet someone, but how much they can touch your life through music. RIP always, King of Pop.

This is the reason I stayed in most of this previous weekend. About 200 pages in, getting pissy with Edward not letting the relationship get more physical, in fear he'll 'lose control' and bite her. Can you imagine? "Not tonight honey, I might kill you by accident." Hmm.
Anyways I'm super into the books, finished New Moon last week & cannot wait to see the movie November 20th..

Banana Cupcakes with Honey-Cinnamon Frosting. Exuse me while i drool over the keyboard. Yeah. I'm not going to waste time with dilly-dallying about em either. Here's the GENIUS recipe, courtesy of Ms. Jailbird Stewart. (www.marthastewart.com)

Cake Mix:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 ripe bananas), plus 1 whole banana, for garnish (optional)
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a standard 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Make a well in center of flour mixture. In well, mix together butter, mashed bananas, eggs, and vanilla. Stir to incorporate flour mixture (do not overmix). Dividing evenly, spoon batter into muffin cups.
Bake until a toothpick inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove cupcakes from pan; cool completely on a wire rack. Spread tops with Honey-Cinnamon Frosting. Just before serving, peel and slice banana into rounds, and place one on each cupcake, if desired.

Honey-Cinnamon Frosting:
1 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 tablespoon honey
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon

In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat confectioners' sugar, unsalted butter, honey, and ground cinnamon until smooth, 4 to 5 minutes

Vacation Time.

Trend Watch : Green Nails

I'm really loving this dull almost fern-like color from Chanel. There's a heavy wait list for this limited edition laquer, the brand will only be making 300 bottles..

random cute stuff from..

Urban Outfitters. Cruising the website in the Apartment section, & there is some adorable knick knacks & sweet furniture. So much cute stocking stuffer potential too. Check the ninja turtle ornament.

Cupcake Floss!

too effin cute though.

So we all know that shoulder pads are back in. Balmain has taken the trend to another level. Another price level I might add. The pieces are steep, but truly perfectly tailored, unique & bold. If i had 13000$ to drop on a dress, the black number would be mine. I'd take the denim jacket too, now on sale for only 2842$. USD at that. The ankle boots are a little bit more reasonable. (1200$)

Choo for H&M !

Jimmy Choo. I just love saying it. Collabo with H&M. Amazing style with low prices. Not only shoes, but bangles, jackets, bags & dresses too. Mostly all black garments/shoes. Loving that. Here are some of my faves from the collection. Hits Canada November 14th..

when (if) I get married, this is exactly how I want it to be. Minus the butterflies in the decor..but other than that, this is the perfect paradise wedding I've always dreamed of. So much more intimate than a big church wedding with dozens of aquaintances. Ahhh.

Sweet Tooth

Salt or Sweet?

I'm on the sweet side.

Candy fiend.

Sugar tooth.

Biker Shorts..

now..I like the layering look..alot..but this is not for me. There's something about the 'biker shorts' trend I never fully got. I mean spandex altogether is a touchy thing. Lululemons- okay, staple in the closet. Why? cuz they enhance the tush. Make it look good. But these don't look super flattering. I mean, under denim/seersucker shorts (like above) could be cute..but..I'm not sure I'm feeling em...

Ruthie Davis

I'm big into neon/vivid colored shoes. Anything bright. Anything loud. Even an all black patent pump with a punch of neon yellow will do. Ruthie Davis is the queen of daring-when it comes to color usage. Sandals, peep-toes or pumps in electric orange, lime green or fushia? Yes, please.

These are some of my favorite summer styles. Her winter collections are gorgeous as well, but more mainstream. When her Spring/Summer collections hit, they are packed with kicks looking like the inside of a fruit loop box. Loves it.

Ballerina Inspired

..are you feeling em? I would. They pretty adorable. Only 465$ at forwardforward.com to let out your inner ballerina..

every girl should know about..

This website is host to hundreds of brands including; Alexander Wang, Anna Sui, Alice + Olivia, DVF, Elizabeth & James, Marc Jacobs, & soooo many more. Shopbop's denim department is out of control. Destroyed, skinny, acid wash or wide leg, they have everything, & plenty of choices in each trend. It's hard to jean-shop online, but with multiple angle pictures & fit notes, I've never had a problem pinpointing sizes/colors right for me.

Shopbop has killer sales that last no longer than 72 hours..however they don't happen too often..but when they do, the 'good stuff' & sizes are snapped up in hours. Trust me. I've had my eye on a Rachel Pally dress. Went to pay off my VISA to cop it, & poof-it's gone.

As much as I am a dedicated shopbop.com supporter, there is one thing that peeves me. The basic cotton tee is never less than 40$. Or 'vintage sweatpants' that look like my brothers' Costco sweats, cost 120$. Point being; don't go to shopbop looking for basics. V-necks, tanks, cardigans...it's a little price-pricey for what you get. Hit American Apparel or Forever 21 instead.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure every shopbop garment I've purchased has been complimented on/envied. Check it out..

so...I decided to start this blog. mostly for myself. cupcakes & couture...
