Packing heat, on the feet?
What? On a FLAT? Holster included. Bedazzled bullets? I could see these on a pair of Pierre Hardy heels or somethin...but on a flat? The edge doesn't really compliment the softness of a flat in my opinion, but still a unique pair to slide on your feet. Would you? Not for me.

The Lovely Bones.
I know everyone always says, "read the book", when a film mirrors a novel, but in most cases, it's true. The book's better. I've seen The Lovely Bones, and was less than impressed. Stanley Tucci, however, was the best actor in the movie. Eerie & off-putting, he plays a perfect creepy neighbour, who doesn't sit right with anyone. For good reason. Suzy Salmon is murdered as a young girl, and stuck in the 'in-between'. Watching her family grieve & attempt to heal, also accepting her own death, on her own time. Definitely read, before watching.
remember these?
Why do I love them? Cutest sneakers. Classic. Pair with boyfriend jeans or cutoffs, they are adorable on chicks. These updated looks on the classic Chuck are fab, available at www.freepeople.com, they run a little more pricey then regular converse, but well worth it. Statement sneakers are tricky, but I think these are perf for spring 2010. I think the nude shredded are my favorite.
Spring 2010 SHOES
Shedding the winter boots in the spring to pedicures toes in sandals is a wonderful thing! Pretty toes & pretty shoes. There's nothing more promising that warm weather is on the brink then seeing girls in the city braving the spring frostbite to rock a pair of colorful sandals. Luckily, in Toronto, spring is fairly mild & summer seems to come quickly. Here are some of my faves for spring, thus far:
DVF - 295$USD (loving the jewel tones with gold)
Elizabeth & James - 235$USD (add pretty nude sundress)
Dolce Vita - 174$USD (pair with destroyed cutoffs & gold bangles)
Aldo - 100$CAD (these remind me of a sea creature!)
Christian Louboutin - 995$USD (blogged about these before, in love.)
Antik Batik - 210$USD (picturing these with a black tunic & crossbody bag)
YSL - 995$USD (updated version of the classic Tribute, purple suede)

Cuppies.
Here is a recipe for good old fashioned chocolate cupcakes :) For coloured frosting, add food colouring to buttercream vanilla icing.
Ingredients:
Makes 18 to 24
* 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 1/2 cups sugar
* 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
* 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
* 3/4 teaspoon salt
* 2 large eggs
* 3/4 cup warm water
* 3/4 cup buttermilk
* 3 tablespoons safflower oil
* 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line standard muffin tins with paper liners; set aside. Sift together cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl. Add eggs, warm water, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla, and mix until smooth, about 3 minutes. Scrape down the sides and bottom of bowl to assure batter is well mixed.
2. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each 2/3 full. Bake until tops spring back when touched, about 20 minutes, rotating pan once if needed. Transfer to a wire rack; let cool completely.
South Beach Please
So my dear friend Sandra & I are planning our yearly return to South Beach.
God, I love Miami. Beach, bright clothes, bright toes, champagne till 6AM & beautiful boys. I wish I could say I come back to Toronto feeling, refreshed & relaxed...nope. Especially when I venture down south with my trouble making friend Sange, we go hard. And we loverrrrs it.
